Hello I am Phillip Shakesby and I am an interactive designer, I love designing creative, use-able and desirable solutions for web, mobile and kiosk. I enjoy designing interfaces, applications and experiences that engage audiences and meet the needs of both the user and the client.

I like to look at all possibilities when approaching projects and when the situation calls for it I have no fear in creating new possibilities to find the right solution for you.

Why you might need me?

Avoiding frustration for your customers/users is essential to creating positive experiences and repeat interaction or custom, not getting this right could be very costly to your business. I like to get to the heart of your customer’s experience in order to help you to help them.

As an Interactive designer I believe that designs should work on a number of levels to be successful, designs must be visually attractive, easy to use and the information must be displayed a way that the user can understand.

Interaction models differ depending on many various factors including platform, target audience, location and purpose. Interactive design focuses on these interaction models in order to provide you with the best possible product for both you and your customers/users.
I am currently available to hire on a freelance basis, I also can offer a consultation service on a broad range of interactive design projects.

My design biography

I started designing whilst studying Media Studies at Hull College in 1995 I found I really enjoyed the
process of computer aided design especially corporate branding, I then went on to design posters
and flyers for local bars, businesses and events.

Early 2008 I decided to undertake a home learning course studying web design. I passed this course with a distinction. The web design course gave me the confidence to try and enhance my skills further so in September 2008 I started a degree course studying Multimedia Design which I have just completed.

In 2011 I was awarded the Hull School of Art & Designs Deans Prize for Innovation in Design.

In 2013 I completed my Masters Degree at Hull School of Art & Design.

I have experience with most relevant software and I am always looking to learn new skills to expand my skill set.
